What Makes Hillel at UCLA Special?

Hillel at UCLA is truly a home away from home for Jewish Bruins. Through meaningful Jewish experiences, our goal is to discover each student’s individual interests or needs and through these pursuits, provide energizing opportunities to embrace Judaism and community.

Our programming is by students and for students, and covers a variety of topics and interests, such as learning about Israel, exploring Judaism through hip-hop, connecting students with Holocaust survivors, fighting food insecurity by baking challah with friends, and even a Jewish a capella group. We truly have something for everyone, and our staff are happy to help you create your own program or event if you want to share your passion and leadership with the community.

In addition to our student organizations, we come together weekly for a joyous Shabbat services and dinner; there are also  various other opportunities for prayer, growth, and Jewish learning. Our weekly Jewish Learning Fellowships empower students to learn about a topic of their choice through a Jewish lens. Past topics include "Sex, Love and Romance", "Life's Big Questions", "Leadership", Israel Learning Fellowship, and more.

Hillel is not only a hub of programming and activity, but it is also home to our very own Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and dining hall. When students first walk in the door, they’re welcomed by their peers studying and socializing in the Coffee Bean, and after heading down the hall to talk to their favorite staff members, they can walk up the stairs to the second floor and swipe themselves into our amazing kosher cafeteria for a freshly cooked meal.

As a whole, Hillel at UCLA is the incredible and thriving organization it is today because of our students. They are constantly demonstrating their creativity and passion for Judaism through intentional programming, dedicated engagement, and incredibly enthusiastic community building, and we would love to welcome you to the Hillel at UCLA community.
