Facilities and Kosher Dining

Our Building

Our beautiful building was opened in 2002 to support our robust and growing community.  Located at 574 Hilgard Avenue, our three stories are home to spaces for students to study, eat, pray, and meet one another between classes, in the evenings, or on Shabbat.  If you're new to our community, come by any time for a tour of our incredible space.  We hope you truly feel at #HomeAtHillel!

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

Hillel at UCLA is proud to host this Southern California staple in our very own building.  Hit up CBTL if you're looking for coffee shop vibes, free WiFi, and a collaborative meeting and study space.

Kosher on Campus

Limited Kosher dining options are available during the academic year in Covel Dining Hall on campus.  Frozen meals are heated upon request.  For more information on this service, please visit the UCLA Housing website.

There are many places on campus to buy packaged Kosher food.

UCLA Dining also provides many well-marked vegetarian and vegan (non-Kosher) options.

Shabbat and Holiday Meals

Shabbat and holiday meals are provided weekly and free of charge for every Bruin.

Large Shabbat dinners preceded by Reform and Orthodox service offerings are a weekly opportunity to connect with the whole of the UCLA Jewish community.  Weekly Shabbat lunches are hosted at Hillel by JLIC, and an intimate Seudah Shlishit (Third Feast) is usually hosted at the UCLA Bayit.

Holiday meals follow a similar schedule.

The Dortort Center

The Dortort Center for Creativity in the Arts makes art and culture an integral part of the Hillel experience for students at UCLA.  Our five gallery spaces, including the Dortort Gallery, the Spiegel Gallery, and the Gindi Gallery, encompass 2,500 square feet and present nine art exhibits every academic year.

The Dortort Center offers student internships as well as opportunities for student artists to contribute to exhibits in some of our gallery spaces.  All events hosted at the Dortort Center are open to students.
