UCLA and Hillel are home to many incredible organizations dedicated to Jewish Bruin life. Kick off the school year by learning about the Jewish Community at UCLA!

Hillel Student Board

Hillel Student Board is the epicenter for all things Hillel. From hosting Shabbat events every Friday to planning diverse programs for all grade levels, Hillel Student Board is dedicated to making Hillel a place for everyone. Hillel Student Board welcomes and appreciates all students and wants to make an impact on Jewish Bruins' college experiences. Check in with us for general information about Hillel or just to say hi!

AEPi

AEPi is a Jewish affiliated social fraternity that works to promote Jewish leadership and values.

BIPAC

BIPAC is a bipartisan group of UCLA student leaders committed to strengthening the U.S.-Israel alliance and UCLA-Israel relationship through political activism on campus and in Congress

Chabad

Chabad at UCLA serves as a home away from home for the Jewish students, faculty, and staff, anticipating and serving their social, educational, religious and spiritual needs. From home-made challah Friday night and a mezuzah on your door to a holiday celebration and a delicious matzo ball soup delivered when you are under the weather, we are here for you! At Chabad, all students are welcome, regardless of background, affiliation, and level of observance.

Challah for Hunger

Challah for Hunger is an organization that fights campus food insecurity and food insecurity in the LA area by baking and selling challah! We have baking events every other week, and have volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. This quarter may be a bit different, but we are doing everything we can to continue baking a difference whether we are together virtually or in person!

J-Street

JStreet U is a group of progressive political people who are activists and advocates for a two-state solution in Israel/Palestine. We believe in democratic values and peaceful conflict resolution. On campus we create open spaces where students can engage in nuanced dialogue about difficult topics. By broadening the conversation about Israel/Palestine we also explore other political issues and work to create a more progressive world on all fronts.

Jewish Pre-Health Society

Jewish Pre-Health Society (JPHS) is a UCLA Hillel student organization that focuses on guiding students who are interested in pursuing health/medical careers by providing them with enriching experiences, opportunities, and resources necessary to achieve their career goals.

JLIC

OU-JLIC is a partnership between Hillel and the Orthodox Union offering life coaching, Jewish learning, Tzedek projects and Shabbat and Holiday celebrations both on and off campus. Directed by the ‘optimal’ Rabbi Aryeh & Sharona Kaplan and a strong team of powerful student leaders, OU-JLIC is one of the most vibrant Jewish communities at UCLA!

Mishelanu

UCLA Mishelanu is a group that allows students to express their Israeli American identity and preserve their heritage. Our events are meant to connect people within our community and provide education about Israeli culture. Follow us on Instagram for the latest updates: @uclamishelanu

TAMID

Connecting American, business-minded students to the Israeli economy through experiential learning, pro-bono consulting, and stock-research competitions.

UCLA JMED

We are a Jewish Pre-Health club dedicated to serving our community through hosting speaker events with a wide variety of medical professionals, hosting outreach events, providing access to research, shadowing and networking opportunities among members and outside professionals, and more. Our goal is to create a strong Jewish Pre-Health presence on campus by integrating Jewish values with a passion for embarking upon a career in the medical field.

Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies

The Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies promotes the study of modern Israel at UCLA and beyond. To that end, the Center sponsors courses about Israel for UCLA students, generates and disseminates academic research in the field of Israel Studies, organizes frequent public programs, and hosts visiting scholars, writers and artists. The Center provides research grants to UCLA faculty and students and also offers scholarships to undergraduate students who wish to study abroad in Israel.

Hillel Staff

Come meet one of our (new!) Hillel staff members, Molly, as she talks about all of the different things the staff members run including Jewish Learning Fellowships, Birthright, and others! She works very closely with the students so come and get to know her and ask all of your burning Hillel questions!

Bearing Witness

Bearing Witness is a Holocaust education program to connect UCLA students with the lives and stories of living Holocaust Survivors. Throughout a quarter, students attend biweekly lunches with Holocaust survivors. On alternating weeks, students attend Reflection Sessions in which we invite organizations and speakers to present to us about topics surrounding the Holocaust, anti-Semitism, and genocides past and present.

Bruins for Israel

Bruins for Israel is the premier pro-Israel group at UCLA. Our mission is to establish a community based on the principles of Engagement, Education, Empowerment & Experience while sharing our love for the culture and history of Israel. Our events focus on celebrating Israel's accomplishments in a variety of fields including technology, industry, medicine, and the arts. We welcome undergraduate and graduate students of all majors, years, backgrounds, and political views. All you need to do is show up and have fun!

Chai on Life

Chai on Life offers an alternative shabbat experience focusing on getting out of the UCLA bubble. Through hiking, camping and community building in a smaller, more personal environment, Chai on Life strives to create a Jewish community built on genuine connections and the great outdoors.

Ha’Am

Ha'Am is the official student-run Jweish news magazine at UCLA. We offer print and online publications and seek to inform both the UCLA student body and the larger Los Angeles community about Jewish life, happenings, and opinions off and on campus.

JAM

JAM UCLA is a Jewish Club on campus with a variety of social, professional, and Jewish opportunities!Including: Challah baking socials, Shabbat dinners, weekend retreats, sports events, paid fellowships, internships, housing scholarships and a Pre-Health program and much more. We also run trips to Poland, Israel, London and NY. And course lots of coffee meetings! Come and join us!!!!

Jewkbox

Jewkbox is UCLA's one and only Jewish A Capella Group! Founded in 2012, we are a co-ed group of Jewish Bruins who love to sing.
We sing frequently at UCLA Hillel during Shabbat dinners, and have sang at Acapalooza, as well as gigs throughout the years for private parties, temples, and Hadassah, have collaborated with outside groups such as UPenn's The Shabbatones, and do an end-of-the-year concert to showcase our songs!

Jewkbox meets twice a week for rehearsals and holds auditions at the beginning of every Fall quarter.

Kahal Study Abroad

Your Jewish Home Abroad is an organization that helps college students traveling and studying abroad connect with Jewish communities and opportunities all around the world. We connect students to families, synagogues and organizations wherever they will be residing and even provide grant money for students to create their own Jewish experiences abroad. KAHAL’s resources enhance your experience abroad by ensuring that there is always a Jewish community ready to welcome you.

During this pandemic we hope to engage students who have returned from studying abroad and those planning on studying abroad with virtual programming and partner organizations that still allow you to experience the adventure and wonder of the Jewish world abroad and plan for travel again soon.

Persian Community of Hillel

Persian Community at Hillel at UCLA (PCH) was founded by students, for students. Created with the goal of establishing a strong Persian Jewish community at our school, PCH has become an opportunity for involvement for hundreds of students, as well as a place for all to connect with this unique heritage. Today, PCH board continues to organize and host events for their peers, with the hope of fostering a warm atmosphere of support, comfort, and excitement. We are an enthusiastic and open-minded community, and encourage anyone and everyone interested to reach out and get involved.

TUSH

TUSH is a student-run club under the organization of Hillel at UCLA that plans events and programming in an effort to unite Jewish transfers and create long lasting friendships and fun memories. Our events range from giving new transfers academic guidance, to hosting fun game nights. Our mission is to make your two years at UCLA the best possible by providing a community for Jewish Transfers specifically.

We are a pro-Israel movement that supports the State of Israel. Our mission is to be a clear and confident pro-Israel voice on our campus and to support students in grassroots pro-Israel advocacy.

At Gift of Life we believe every person battling blood cancer deserves a second chance at life — and we are determined to make it happen. We are singularly passionate about engaging the public to help us get everyone involved in curing blood cancer, whether as a donor, a volunteer or a financial supporter. It all begins with one remarkable person, one life-changing swab and one huge win — finding a match and a cure.
